BMW Rattle Noise May Come From Transmission Cooler

This bulletin applies to 2017 BMW 5 and 7 series vehicles (xDrive). A rattling noise may be heard from the engine area at the transmission oil cooler thermostat where the transmission oil cooler lines come into contact with the left front output shaft.

This bulletin applies to 2017 BMW 5 and 7 series vehicles (xDrive). A rattling noise may be heard from the engine area at the transmission oil cooler thermostat where the transmission oil cooler lines come into contact with the left front output shaft.

The bracket that holds the transmission oil cooler thermostat to the left front frame rail may be defective.

Replace the holder for the transmission oil cooler thermostat. Check and if necessary, replace the transmission oil cooler lines and inner CV boot for the output shaft.
