This bulletin applies to 2017 BMW 2 Series coupe and convertible, 3 Series sedan and Sport Wagon, 4 Series coupe and convertible, 3 Series Gran Turismo, 4 Series Gran coupe, xDrive/sDrive 28i and 5 Series sedan vehicles with the B460 engine.

A buzzing noise may be heard from the Valvetronic motor when the vehicle is unlocked, before the engine is started, or after the engine is turned off. There may be no related faults saved in memory. Software in the DME (digital motor electronics) may cause the Valvetronic motor to shudder at the end stop position. Reprogram the vehicle with the latest version of ISTA Next.
