When diagnosing a 2012-2013 Honda Ridgeline vehicle equipped with a 3.5L engine, DTC P2101 (electronic throttle control system malfunction) may be stored. This may be an intermittent problem and the vehicle may enter fail-safe mode and a notable loss of power.

You can try to cycle the ignition which may restore normal operation. However, the DTC may still be stored. Cycling the ignition will usually restore the vehicle to its normal function, but the MIL will remain on and DTC P2101 will remain stored. If this is the case, reprogram using HDS software 3.016.018 or later
