This bulletin applies to 2016-2017 Chevy Corvette vehicles equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Some customers may complain about a rattle type noise, which may be coming from the drive support assembly (DSA) area. This may be due to the propeller shaft hub clamp bolt coming loose.

If this is found to be the case, replace the propeller shaft hub clamp bolt, P/N 12560341. Add blue Loctite threadlocker to the new bolt and torque the new bolt to 94 ft-lb. Check the DSA for noise above 1500 RPM. Rev the engine to 2000 RPM and note if the noise is present. If the noise is still present above 1500 RPM, it is not a DSA issue. Continue diagnosis. If the noise goes away above 1500 RPM and returns below 1500 RPM, the propeller shaft assembly must be replaced.
