Humming Along Issue With Jaguar
This bulletin applies to 2014 and later Jaguar F-Type vehicles. A humming noise may be heard from the engine during idling. This may be caused by dust and/or water ingress to the primary drive belt idler pulley bearing.
Naturally, first, note the fitted position (routing) of the accessory drive belt before work begins. Loosen the belt and remove it from the idler pulley. Remove the primary drive belt idler pulley cap. Remove and discard the idler pulley. Remove the idler pulley bracket. Install a new bracket and torque to 25 Nm. Install a new primary drive belt idler pulley and torque to 47 Nm.
Remove the idler pulley.
Torque the new idler pulley bracket bolts to 25 Nm.
