Quieting Jaguar Humming Noise

This bulletin applies to 2014 and later Jaguar F-Type, 2010-2015 XF, 2010 and later XJ and 2010-2015 XK vehicles. A humming noise may be evident from the engine during idle.

This bulletin applies to 2014 and later Jaguar F-Type, 2010-2015 XF, 2010 and later XJ and 2010-2015 XK vehicles. A humming noise may be evident from the engine during idle. This may be caused by dust and/or water ingress to the primary drive belt idler pulley bearing.

Remove the T-connector from the air cleaner outlet pipe. Loosen the primary drive belt and remove it from the idler pulley. Remove the primary drive belt idler pulley cap. Remove and discard the idler pulley. Remove the primary drive belt idler pulley bracket. 

Install the new primary drive belt idler pulley bracket P/N C2D49056 and torque bolts to 25 Nm. Install the new primary drive belt idler pulley P/N C2D49055 and torque to 47 Nm.
