This bulletin applies to 2014-2015 Jaguar F-Type vehicles equipped with a 3.0L gasoline engine. The customer may comment about the vehicle holding onto gears when not necessary, harsh or poor shift quality and/or incorrect shift timing. Gearshift and/or engagement is of poor quality due to transmission control module (TCM) configuration.
The repair procedure requires SDD DVD 139.04 and calibration file 187 or later.
Connect the Jaguar-approved battery support unit/power supply.
Connect SDD to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session, by reading the VIN for the current vehicle and initiating the data collection sequence.
Follow the SDD prompts.
Where no internet access is available, select the diagnosis session type, select the symptoms tab and enter any of the following symptoms: powertrain, automatic transmission and transaxle, automatic transmission and transaxle symptoms, harsh gear change. Select the Recommendations tab. Configure existing module-transmission control module.
When all tasks are complete, exit the current session by selecting the Session tab and then selecting the Close Session option.
Disconnect the SDD and the battery support power.
