Wrong Dipstick for Jeep Grand Cherokee

This bulletin is for the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Owners or technicians checking the engine oil level on 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with a 6.4L engine and built on or before June 12, 2015, may note that the dipstick may indicate an overfill after changing the engine oil and filter and adding the required seven quarts of oil.

The dipstick may indicate an overfill of 1 quart. If so, an incorrect dipstick was installed. Check the part number on the dipstick. If P/N 05038471AA is found, replace it with the correct dipstick  P/N 05038472AB.
