Highlander Change Necessary
Some 2011-2015 Toyota Highlander HV vehicles may exhibit a malfunction indicator light (MIL) on with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2111 (throttle actuator control system stuck open) and/or P0A0F (engine failed to start) after a cold soak. This applies to vehicles produced before production change VIN JTEBC3EH#D2018016 require a new intake surge tank and a reflash. 2013-2015 model year Highlander HV vehicles built after the production change VIN 5TDDCRFH#FS010286, 5TDJCRFH#FS010286, 5TDBCRFH#FS010286 only require a reflash.
Where applicable, replace the intake air surge tank assembly with updated part 17190-31250. Reprogram the ECM using calibration ID 34878100 for 2011-2012 models or 348N1100 for 2013 models or 30E26100 for 2014-2015 models.
