This bulletin applies to 2014-2015 Ram Promaster vehicles equipped with a 3.0L diesel engine. The customer may describe a warning light on and/or a blinking glow plug lamp. The technician may find one or more of the following diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored:
P06B9 (cyl 1 glow plug circuit performance)
P06BA (cyl 2 glow plug circuit performance)
P06BB (cyl 3 glow plug circuit performance)
P06BC (cyl 4 glow plug circuit performance)
P064C (glow plug control module 1)
P0671 (cyl 1 glow plug circuit open)
P0672 (cyl 2 glow plug circuit open)
P0673 (cyl 3 glow plug circuit open)
P0674 (cyl 4 glow plug circuit open)
P066A (cyl 1 glow plug circuit low)
P066C (cyl 2 glow plug circuit low)
P066E (cyl 3 glow plug circuit low)
P067A (cyl 4 glow plug circuit low)
P052F (glow plug control module 1 system voltage)
P263E (glow plug control module 1 over temperature)
Using a scan tool, verify that all engine systems are functioning as designed. Note and repair any DTCs not related to the above listed codes.
The issue may be that one or more glow plugs are missing an internal O-ring. Replace all four glow plugs P/N 68099604AA.
