Toyota Tundra Air Valve Gets Stuck

Sub-freezing temperatures can prompt some 2014-2016 Toyota Tundra vehicles to exhibit a MIL on condition with DTC P2440.

Some 2014-2016 Toyota Tundra vehicles may exhibit a MIL on condition with DTC P2440 (secondary air injection system switching valve stuck open Bank 1), or P2442 (secondary air injection system switching valve stuck open Bank 2). Under some conditions the engine may enter limp mode. This condition can be triggered by sub-freezing ambient temperatures. Flash reprogram the ECM.
