This bulletin applies to 2016-2017 Toyota Tacoma vehicles equipped with a 2GR-FKS engine. The engine may exhibit an idle surge with steering input, most noticeable at idle creep speed, when the steering wheel is turned when backing up or in parking lot maneuvers and when the engine coolant temperature is low.

The fix involves reprogramming the ECM. With a 6AT transmission, use new calibration ID 8966304B0400 at the main ECU and 896650401400 for the sub ECU. With a 6MT transmission, use ID 8966304B1300 for the main ECU.
