Mazda Updates the Fuel Tank

Some owners of 2010-2013 Mazda3 and 2012-2015 Mazda5 vehicles may note that the fuel tank is difficult to fill. The concern may be caused by improper operation of the non-return valve in the fuel tank (temporarily stuck open).

Some owners of 2010-2013 Mazda3 and 2012-2015 Mazda5 vehicles may note that the fuel tank is difficult to fill. The concern may be caused by improper operation of the non-return valve in the fuel tank (temporarily stuck open). The production process of the fuel tank has been improved to eliminate this concern.

Verify that there are no restrictions of evaporative emission system hoses. If no restrictions are found, replace the fuel tank with the new and improved version. Verify the repair by filling the fuel tank and making sure that the fuel pump nozzle shuts off automatically when the tank is full.

The fuel tank for Mazda5 vehicles is P/N CG36-42-110C.

The fuel tank for Mazda3 is P/N BFD1-42-110F for Skyactiv 2.0L; BBM2-42-110G for MZR 2.0L; BBM7-42-110H for MZR 2.3T and MZR 2.5L.

Note that each tank also requires associated gaskets and seals and pads.
