Some owners of 2007-2013 Chevy Avalanche vehicles may experience an SES light on or low oil pressure indication in cold or hot weather. DTC P0521 may be stored. The engine should be equipped with a PF48E or PF48 engine oil filter. Determine if the engine has been properly repaired and cleaned. Inspect the left rocker cover (square baffle) and verify that the baffles can hold water and do not leak.
If any leaks can be found, clean and seal the baffle edge with RTV or replace the valve cover. Thoroughly clean and dry the valve cover before installing and/or re-sealing. Change the engine oil and replace the filter using PF48E or PF48 filter.
