Diesel with DEF in Fuel

This bulletin applies to 2010 – 2014 GM vehicles equipped with the 6.6L Duramax diesel engine, including Chevy Express and Silverado and GMC Savana and Sierra models. A technician may encounter a hard start, no start, rough running, low fuel pressure and/or DTC P0087, P0088, P0191 and P128E.

This bulletin applies to 2010 – 2014 GM vehicles equipped with the 6.6L Duramax diesel engine, including Chevy Express and Silverado and GMC Savana and Sierra models. A technician may encounter a hard start, no start, rough running, low fuel pressure and/or DTC P0087, P0088, P0191 and P128E.

During inspection of the fuel system, the technician may find DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) contamination.

If DEF contamination is found, thoroughly inspect, clean and flush the entire fuel system.
