This bulletin applies to 2013-2014 Dodge Ram 3500 trucks equipped with the 6.7L Cummins diesel engine. MIL illumination along with DTC P208D (diesel exhaust fluid reductant pump control circuit high) and/or P202E (diesel exhaust fluid reductant injector performance) may be present.
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Doser Control Unit (DCU) for DEF with new software.
According to Chrysler, flash PCM service bulletin 18-018-13 Rev. B or later should be performed in conjunction with this service bulletin for pickup trucks. For cab chassis trucks, use the flash PCM bulletin 18-025-13 Rev. A or later.
Software improvements are available for the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system on these vehicles.
Using a scan tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate diagnostic procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify that all engine systems are functioning as designed. Correct any issues before proceeding.
After DCU reprogramming, clear any DTCs that may have been set in other modules.
