This bulletin applies to 2010 Volkswagen Passat Wagon models equipped with a 2.0L engine and 6-speed manual transmission that exhibit a groan or screech noise from the transmission during high load clutch operation (such as when starting on a steep incline with low engine rpm).

The clutch hub springs may break down, causing a vibration through the pressure plate, creating the noise.

Replace the clutch assembly with revised P/N 06J 141 015 JX.
