Some 2018-2019 Ford EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 2.0L Duratec engine and an automatic transmission and built from Sept. 1, 2017, to Nov. 28, 2018, may exhibit an illuminated MIL, with DTCs P0137 and/or P0141. This may be due to a faulty catalyst monitor sensor as well as PCM software.

Retrieve DTCs. If P0137 and/or P0141 is stored in the PCM, replace the catalyst monitor sensor.

Reprogram the PCM using the latest software release. A new catalyst monitor sensor is available as part number GN1Z-9G444-A. You’ll also need Motorcraft Penetrating and Lock Lubricant XL-1 and Motorcraft High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize XL-2.

Required tools include a ¼-inch drive 3-inch extension and a 7 mm deepwell socket.
