This bulletin applies to 2012-2013 Jeep Compass and Patriot vehicles. A clicking or rubbing noise may be heard from the rear wheels at low speeds.

Drive the vehicle with all electrical functions off, all windows open and the parking brake engaged to the second click up. Drive forward about 50 feet at a speed of no more than 5 mph.  Then drive in reverse at the same speed and distance.

If the noise is evident, the brake shoe hold-down pin should be replaced.
