Noisy Bimmer

This bulletin applies to 2014 BMW 328i xDrive vehicles. Some owners may complain about a high-frequency ticking noise from the engine bay.

The noise can be heard inside and outside of the vehicle.

A likely cause is a mechanical vibration inside the high pressure fuel pump. For a simple  remedy, install a high pressure fuel pump acoustic cover P/N 13 51 7 629 169. The plastic acoustic cover will snap onto the high pressure fuel pump.
