This bulletin applies to 2007 BMW 335i xDrive vehicles. A grinding or scraping noise may be heard while cornering at vehicle speeds up to about 30 mph.
The noise is more pronounced while the vehicle is in the warm-up phase and may change intensity during left and right turns. The likely cause: The right side engine support is making contact with the right side engine mount.
Inspect the right engine support arm and the engine mount for signs of contact at the location shown in the illustration. Measure the clearance between the mount and support arm.
If clearance is less than 2.7 mm, or if the mount shows signs of contact, replace the right engine mount.
A new right engine mount is available as P/N 22 11 6 772 152.
