This bulletin applies to 2011 Dodge Challenger models equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine. Customers may experience a MIL on. Upon further investigation the technician may find multiple DTCs that have been set:

  • P0300 (multiple cylinder misfire)
  • P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire)
  • P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire)
  • P0306 (cylinder 6 misfire)

Perform a cylinder leakage test on the cylinders exhibiting the misfire DTC.Do any of the cylinders exhibit leakage of 25% or greater? If yes, proceed to Step 3. If no, proceed with normal diagnostics.Replace the cylinder head.

While a cylinder head can likely be corrected by a machine shop, Chrysler suggests replacing the head. Apparently an extended warranty coverage is available for this condition.
