Tech Tip: How often do I need to charge my jump starter?

Sept. 1, 2023
Make sure your jump starter is ready to answer the call when you need it the most.

How often do I need to charge my jump starter?

We strongly advise charging your jump starter, whether lead acid or lithium, every 90 days. This is the number one determinant of jump starter longevity, due to the fact that batteries (all batteries) really like to be charged and really don’t like to sit for any length of time in a discharged state. We even provide a free quarterly reminder email to charge your jump starter – sign up here – that’s how much we want you to charge it on a regular basis.

During periods of extreme cold, we recommend charging more frequently, such as monthly. Charge early and charge often – make sure your jump starter is ready to answer the call when you need it the most.
