Mitchell 1 announces the Manager Forum discussion board for its Manager™ SE shop management software users has hit a major milestone by receiving its 50,000th post.

The Mitchell 1 Manager Forum at www.managerforum.net is an online community of like-minded automotive professionals who help each by sharing their tips and best practices. The forum is continually updated with new content and moderated to maintain a friendly, professional and encouraging tone. Customer feedback and ideas are recorded on an enhancement request list and are considered for inclusion in future releases of the software.

“Over the years, we’ve watched the forum grow into a thriving community of automotive professionals,” said Tim McDonnell, national training manager and primary forum moderator for Mitchell 1. “Hitting 50,000 posts is a testament to the collaborative spirit of our industry. We are constantly inspired by the wisdom of our forum members and their willingness to share their knowledge with each other.”

McDonnell monitors the forum daily, contributes postings as a subject matter expert on the management software and acts as liaison with the Mitchell 1 product management team.

The forum is active with peer-to-peer discussions between shop owners, managers and auto repair technicians who ask questions, give answers and share ideas about a wide variety of auto-related topics.

Ric Morin, owner of Motorcar Alternatives in Hookset, N.H., is a longtime user of the Mitchell 1 shop management system and serves both as a mentor and as a moderator on the forum. He has contributed over 4,400 posts on the forum, providing answers and guidance to countless auto professionals who have posted questions.

“It didn't take me long to discover that the forum is a great opportunity to grow and learn with other users,” said Morin. “Now, 10 years later, I see the forum as more than the sum of its parts. With so many ideas, opinions and points of view, it's my daily dose of improvement for my shop.”

The Manager Forum includes categories for all of Mitchell 1’s products with sub-forums covering topics such as software upgrades, database settings, model coverage, inventory, purchase orders, parts catalogs, electronic ordering, reports and printing, marketing, technical issues and tips and ideas.

Registered users get the added benefit of two business-related discussion categories: SHOP-2-SHOP for running the business and WRENCH for vehicle repairs assistance, plus a forum “clubhouse” where users can socialize and share personal stories. These special categories are visible only to registered users who are logged in to the forum.
