Snap-on announced access to Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG) secured vehicle systems for its customers with a Wi-Fi-enabled diagnostic tool powered by the latest software.
“OEM access support is important because automobile manufacturers are developing solutions to protect their vehicles’ networks from unauthorized access, including potential cyber-attacks,” said Helen Cox, marketing and client services director, at Snap-on Diagnostics. “For those vehicles with the secure gateway module, access to certain diagnostic functions requires registration and authentication through an approved device for all aftermarket scan tools.”
By completing VAG registration through Snap-on's Technician Profile account, users can quickly gain entry at no additional charge.
This new VAG access is in addition to 2018 and newer FIAT Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) access, which is available through AutoAuth registration.
Snap-on supports secure gateway access through its Security Link services, ensuring its customers a uniform method of entry to secured vehicle systems.
