Bosch launches remote diagnostics service for ADS X platform tools
Bosch Diagnostics has launched Bosch Remote Diagnostics Service (RDS), a new service designed to expand the capabilities of Bosch ADS X Platform tools by connecting technicians with Bosch diagnostic experts through an integrated remote support platform.
RDS gives shops access to OEM software and Bosch diagnostic support through their existing Bosch scan tools, reducing the need to purchase and maintain multiple OEM scan tools and software subscriptions. Bosch experts can remotely perform diagnostic tasks and ADAS calibration procedures, allowing shops to keep more work in-house.
“Today's vehicles are increasingly sophisticated with advanced electronic systems and manufacturer-specific service procedures that require specialized tools, information and expertise to diagnose and service,” says James Latham, product specialist at Bosch Mobility Aftermarket. “Bosch Remote Diagnostics Service gives shops a direct connection to Bosch diagnostic expertise and OEM software through the tools they already use.”
RDS provides access to several remote services, including:
-
OEM Pre-Scan: Remote OEM scanning to help identify vehicle faults and document vehicle condition
-
OEM Post-Scan: Remote scanning to validate repairs and support repair documentation
-
OEM ADAS Calibration: Remote support for supported ADAS calibration procedures
-
OEM Diagnostics Assistance: Expert support for diagnostic procedures, coding, fault codes, and repair-related questions
Technicians can access RDS directly from the home screen of an ADS 625X or ADS 10X Plus scan tool, select a service, and connect with a Bosch expert through integrated live chat. During standard business hours, Bosch says technicians can connect with a live expert in five minutes or less and receive an estimated wait time when submitting a request.
Once connected, the Bosch expert can remotely perform diagnostics and calibrations using licensed OEM software. The diagnostic tool must remain connected to the vehicle during the active session, but technicians can use the Bosch Workshop Assist app to continue communicating with the expert from a mobile device while working on other vehicles.
After the service is completed, the technician receives confirmation and a PDF service report that can be used for repair and insurance documentation.
RDS is designed for collision, glass, and independent repair facilities that need additional vehicle coverage or specialized diagnostic capabilities without maintaining multiple OEM tools and subscriptions. For ADAS-related repairs, the service supports remote calibration using OEM or OEM-equivalent equipment.
An active Bosch ADAS subscription is required when RDS is used with the Bosch DAS 3000 ADAS Calibration Solution. Pay-per-use calibrations are also available using OEM or aftermarket equipment that meets OEM specifications.
Bosch RDS is available in the U.S. and Canada for customers with an ADS 625X or ADS 10X Plus scan tool and an active software subscription. The service uses flat, upfront pricing for common procedures, with customers charged only after a successful session. No separate RDS subscription or service credits are required.
