Drew Technologies launches Remote Assisted Programming Kit for J2534 reprogramming

This new kit provides shops the ability to conduct J2534 programming without purchasing necessary equipment.

Drew Technologies, a manufacturer of J2534 diagnostic and reprogramming devices, has announced the launch of its Remote Assisted Programming (RAP) Kit.

The Drew Technologies Remote Assisted Programming (RAP) Kit provides shops the ability to complete J2534 ECU reprogramming updates and electronically-controlled parts replacements, with no start-up or equipment costs, and no specialized technician training required.

Flash success is 100-percent guaranteed, according to the company.

Shops have two options for using the RAP kit: they can rent the kit or they can lease the kit. Both options do not require any upfront costs, and are based on a pay-per-use model.

The self-contained kit provides everything needed to program an ECU, including the remote expert to complete the programming for the technician. Shops would be required to use their own battery cables to connect the kit to the vehicle.

“With this self-contained kit, there’s no need to do anything other than plug it in,” says Glen Eaton, Product Manager, Drew Technologies.

“We’re taking any fear or hesitancies from technicians in the market and giving them a solution,” says Eaton. During the reprogramming process using the RAP Kit, he explains “Technicians do nothing besides possibly turning the ignition key.”

GM and Ford vehicle coverage is currently available. Additional makes will be continuously added.
