Mustang Needs New Tranny
Some 2015-2016 Ford Mustang vehicles equipped with a 5.2L twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) engine and built on or before February 25, 2016, may exhibit an intermittent MIL with DTCs P0720 and P0722 present. If these codes are present, Ford recommends replacing the transmission (and transmission oil cooler if so equipped). A transmission assembly with oil cooler is available as P/N FR3Z-7003-D. A transmission without oil cooler is P/N FR3Z-7003-E. If the transmission is equipped with an oil cooler, it may also be necessary to replace the cooler line backing rings and seal.
