The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is hosting a free webinar on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 4:00 p.m. ET entitled “Misfire Diagnostics.” 

Misfires originate from one of three areas: ignition, fuel, or mechanical. This webinar, presented by Eric Ziegler from Worldpac, focuses on a logical diagnostic process using scan data, lab scope testing, and targeted test techniques to identify the source and determine the next diagnostic step quickly.  

Topics covered include: 

• Ignition, fuel, and mechanical misfire causes 

• Scan data and mode $06 analysis 

• Lab scope testing for fault isolation 

• Mechanical integrity and cylinder contribution 

• Logical test selection and diagnostic direction
