Snap-on has released a new software update for its diagnostic platforms, giving automotive technicians millions of new diagnostic codes, tests, tips, and data to extend the tools' capabilities.

The latest software release extends diagnostic capabilities for 2025 model year vehicles and adds expert-based information for 14 OEMs. According to a Snap-on press release, the software update includes coverage for North American and European models, with the addition of 70,000 new systems and 600 more functional tests across all markets.

Snap-on said the data is continuously updated with feedback from field technicians and engineers.

"With vehicle and system coverage consistently evolving, Snap-on software is actually updated monthly," said Jason Cahvernes, Snap-on Diagnostics manager. "That's why we have two major software updates during the year, in the fall and spring, but we also have releases that happen in between. Plus, we're sure that we provide, such as 'Fast Track' intelligent information searches and diagnostics, really help technicians access the information that is available. That's why it's important that technicians stay current with their software and stay connected to the cloud so they don't miss out on new features, performance enhancements, and access to the latest vehicle coverage throughout the year."

The software update provides continuous access to diagnostic data that technicians need to service vehicles from manufacturer networks, including Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Volvo, Ford, Hyundai, and Kia, at no additional cost from Snap-on.

Snap-on recently launched software highlights on its website where technicians can access helpful information about the new diagnostic available in Snap-on diagnostic tools, including hints and tips.
