ExxonMobil and General Motors lubricant experts will lead a session on how changing vehicle technology and trends in motor oil will impact vehicle service and repair shop business at a special education session at AAPEX. The presentation, one of 24 education sessions featured in Inside Track: AAPEX Learning Forum, will be held 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 5 in the Venetian Hotel, room 701.

“Motor Oil: How Automotive Technology Changes Impact Motor Technology & Service Requirements” will cover:

o Trends in recommended oil change intervals
o Trends in oil viscosity
o Trends in DIY versus DIFM
o Premium products versus conventional oils
o How hybrids, turbo-charging, diesel and other engine technology changes impact lubricants
o Status and impact of ILSAC-GF-5, the next oil industry specification change
o GM dexos oil specification

Speakers will include Jeff Jones and Tom Olszewski of ExxonMobil, and Eric Johnson and Donald Smolenski of General Motors. They will help attendees understand how motor oil industry issues and trends will impact repair shops and generate new revenue streams.

All “Inside Track” education sessions are free to AAPEX attendees and no registration is necessary.
