(October 29, 2007) The ballots have been filled out and counted. For now only SEMA knows which vehicles were selected at the most "accessory friendly" for 2008. But this week the winners will be announced and we will all know which vehicles were voted the most accessory friendly for the new model year.

Last year the winners included the Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid as Accessory-Friendly Hybrid; Ford Shelby GT500 as Accessory-Friendly car; Jeep Wrangler as Accessory- Friendly SUV and the Toyota Tundra as the Accessory- Friendly truck.

The voters were industry people who participated in one of the cooperative SEMA/OEM programs. Each of the programs brings SEMA members together with OEMs in an effort to allow the specialty equipment manufacturers to increase their speed to market with products for the latest factory vehicles; ensuring that the new vehicles have a wide range of accessories available from the moment they reach the dealerships.

To be eligible the vehicle has to be all new or significantly redesigned. The SEMA Design Awards are scheduled to be announced and presented at a press conference scheduled for Tuesday, October 30 at 1:30 p.m. at the Continental Tire Media Experience, Room S219 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
