Some 2011-2013 Ford E-Series vans equipped with a 5.4L 2V or 6.8L 2V engine and built on or before 11/12/2012 may exhibit excessive engine oil consumption at a rate of 1 quart in less than 3,000 miles. The cause is likely faulty valve stem seals.

Ford recommends engine removal and replacement of all valve seals.  Yeah, a simple fix.
