Hail damage repairs overwhelm auto body shop
A collision repair shop in Cabot, Ark., is backed up for months in repairs after a hailstorm came through the area, according to KATV.
There's a waitlist of at least 200 vehicles at Reflections Body Shop, the article notes. The immediate influx of business caught them by surprise.
"We really didn't have a game plan to start off on how we were going to handle how many people got their vehicles damaged in the storm," Kelcee Brant told KATV.
"It's a bit overwhelming. We usually have about 20 to 30 cars on our lot, and we have about 50 to 60 cars just up in the air around here."
Brant went on to tell the ABC News affiliate that the wait list extends to the middle of August.
"I think that a lot of people are thinking that since it has been two weeks, it has died down a little, and It has not," said Brant. "I'm still getting the same number of calls pretty much every day, asking what they need to do to get their vehicle in."
According to the article, help may soon be on the way. Brant says they're planning to speed along the process by bringing in more employees in the near future.
"We're hoping we can get four or five done a day," Brant stated to KATV. "Fingers crossed, but we're not 100 percent sure yet."
The waitlist only applies for hail damage repairs, the article stated. Brant says they can take in a collision repair as soon as June.
