The Automotive Service Association (ASA) is transitioning its current membership model to create a more unified industry voice.

“We are very excited about the opportunities we see for the Automotive Service Association,” says Fred Hules II, ASA Chairman. “Our Board of Directors is taking the necessary steps to ensure the future of ASA and its members. With the changes occurring in automotive innovation and public policy, it’s critical that the automotive repair industry speaks with one voice. ASA is the voice for automotive repair.”

Between industry innovations, technology transformations, and public policy changes impacting ASA members' businesses, the association wants to ensure its membership is better meeting the needs of its members. The new model will simplify and expand member benefits regarding advocacy, education, and communication, as well as, help drive the association's influence.

With the new model, existing state affiliate agreements will be dissolved and replaced with a 50-state regional structure. This structure will help the association expand its reach and improve membership benefits such as advocacy, education, events, and training for independent repair shops. Other changes include a new fee schedule. Membership dues will shift to a single, monthly subscription.

Through these changes, ASA is committed to staying true to its roots and plans to build the new model from its history of service to its members, while also opening new doors to future opportunities.
