Representatives from the Auto Care Association will soon meet with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to encourage multi-sector Right to Repair rulemaking.

The association will work to address vehicle data access issues specific to the automotive aftermarket.

"We urge the (Biden) administration and the FTC to take strong actions in order to reduce anti-competitive barriers to repair for our industry so that we can continue to service customers' vehicles," says Bill Hanvey, president and CEO of the Auto Care Association.

At the state level, a trade group called the Alliance for Automotive Innovation recently filed a lawsuit in opposition to Massachusetts' Right to Repair law, which passed by a wide margin last fall.
