ACDelco manager speaks out

Steve Sigg

Q. How have you incorporated e-commerce initiatives into your company's business plan through the recession?

A. E-commerce at ACDelco is a critical initiative in 2009 and 2010 for basically two reasons. One is defensive. All aftermarket companies and all businesses in general are taking advantage of the opportunities that e-commerce supports, such as increasing sales, driving redundancy out of the supply chain and a list of other issues.

In addition to that, we are aggressively pursuing it as an offensive tool to seek out new sales, to seek out new forms of distribution. We recently partnered with eBay to sell obsolete inventory and to sell service online, two industry-leading initiatives we are looking at to drive positive sales for ACDelco.
