LTL carrier Yellow shuts down, heads for bankruptcy

'Today’s news is unfortunate but not surprising,' said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien of the nearly 100-year-old company.

The Teamsters union, which represents 22,000 Yellow Corp. workers, was served legal notice that the company, which is the third-largest LTL company in the U.S., will be ceasing operations and filing for bankruptcy.
