Scott D. Thompson, president, Internet AutoParts, Inc. (IAP), will join Anson Tse, eBay Motors, as a key presenter at this high-level session. IAP, a division of Epicor Software Corp., is currently the automotive aftermarket’s largest (by users and volume) business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce parts sourcing solution for automotive service professionals.

Thompson will discuss how leading replacement parts distributors, retailers and program distribution organizations have successfully established and managed e-commerce connectivity with service dealers. He will also offer his outlook on how the online B2B marketplace can help parts providers establish profitable relationships with a variety of new customers, including vehicle dealerships.

Tse, head of eBay Motors’ Parts and Accessories (P&A) operations, will follow with a detailed look at the demographics of online buyers. He will also discuss eBay’s perspective on future opportunities for traditional parts sellers engaged in on-line commerce. Registration is free for all AWDA conference registrants, and $50 for all other aftermarket professionals. Seminar attendees will receive 0.2 continuing education units (CEUs) toward their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) certificates from the University of the Aftermarket. For additional information about this seminar, contact AWDA at 301-654-6664.
