BMW Steering Wheel Heating Time
This bulletin applies to 2024 BMW 2 Series Coupe, 5 Series Sedan, iX Sports Activity and X1 Sports Activity vehicles. Customers may complain that the heated steering wheel takes a long time to warm up to the desired temperature. This is simply due to the design of the steering wheel heating system. In the event of a complaint work through the “Steering wheel module – ABL” to investigate. Utilizing ISTA, navigate to:
- Vehicle management
- Troubleshooting
- Function structure
- Body
- Operation
- Steering wheel module
If no issues are found, explain to the customer that steering wheel hearing is used for comfortable temperature control of the steering wheel rim. The system is working by design and there is no fault with the vehicle or steering wheel. Exchanging the steering wheel will not provide a solution.
