Mending Ford F-Super Duty trans leak

Some 2022 Ford F-Super Duty trucks built on or before July 31, 2022, and equipped with a 10R140 automatic transmission may exhibit a fluid leak from the selector shaft seal. This may be caused by a crack in the manual shaft.

Some 2022 Ford F-Super Duty trucks built on or before July 31, 2022, and equipped with a 10R140 automatic transmission may exhibit a fluid leak from the selector shaft seal. This may be caused by a crack in the manual shaft.

1. Remove the transmission pan and main control valve body.

2. Disconnect the selector lever cable from the manual lever.

3. Remove the nut and manual lever.

4. Remove and discard the manual shaft-to-transmission range (TR) sensor roll pin.

5. Loosen the detent spring bolt and the detent spring enough to remove tension from the TR sensor.

6. Remove and discard the manual shaft.

7. Remove and discard the selector shaft seal.

8. Install a new selector shaft seal.

9. Install a new manual shaft.

10. Align the TR sensor roll pin hole with the new manual shaft and install a new manual shaft-to-sensor roll pin.

11. Tighten the detent spring bolt.

12. Reinstall the manual lever and nut.

13. Reinstall the main control valve body.

14. Reconnect the selector lever cable to the transmission manual lever.

15. Fill and check transmission fluid.
