Confirm the current ECM part number. Adjust the base idle to 0 rpm with CONSULT-III plus and reprogram the ECM. If the ECM part number matches one of the part numbers lusted below, proceed to reprogramming. If it does not match, ECM reprogramming is not needed. Proceed with further diagnostics.

2020 Kicks...........23710-5RW2d; 5RW3D, 5RW4D, 5RW5D

After reprogramming, perform a 10-minute test drive in order to meet the following idle air volume learning conditions:

- Engine coolant temperature of 158-212 degrees F

- Battery voltage of more than 12.9V at idle

- Transmission warmed up

When reprogramming is complete, you will be able to perform throttle valve closed position, idle air volume learning (IAVL), accelerator closed position and DTC erase. If idle air volume learning does not complete, check the idle speed adjustment with C-III plus Work Support and confirm that the idle is set to 0 rpm. Once idle speed is set to 0 rpm, IAVL can be completed.
