Example of liquified excess grease dripping from the steering column tilt mechanism.
This bulletin applies to all Kia vehicles equipped with manual tilt steering columns.
An oily substance may be noticed dripping onto the driver-side floor, especially in high ambient temperatures. This may be due to an excessive amount of grease applied to the steering column tilt adjustment area, which may become liquified and drip.
Using a clean shop towel, remove the excess layer of grease from around the column pivot area, being sure to leave sufficient grease to allow for easy adjustment of the column tilt.
