    This bulletin applies to 2014-2020 Mazda3/Mazda6, 2016-2020 CX-3, 2013-2020 CX-5, 2016-2020 CX-9, 2016-2020 MX-5, and 2020 CX-30 vehicles.

Some owners may complain about an intermittent engine no-start, the instrument cluster red security indicator light on, the engine start/stop amber button light flashing, battery discharge, and/or an electrical relay buzzing noise. DTC B13D3:94 (communication error with remote transmitter) may be stored.

This may be caused by an ignition key close to a cell phone (in a purse, etc.). The cell phone radio waves may interrupt the immobilizer system. The cause may be an aftermarket cell phone charger.

The charger may produce electrical noise that interrupts the immobilize system. The cause may also be an aftermarket GPS tracker that is wired to the vehicle’s wiring harness, which can create unusual electrical symptoms.
