Returning General Motors turbochargers

The GM warranty parts center has received turbochargers returned that have been disassembled, damaged during removal, electrical harnesses/connectors that have been cut or removed and/or improperly packaged turbochargers resulting in shipping damage.

The GM warranty parts center has received turbochargers returned that have been disassembled, damaged during removal, electrical harnesses/connectors that have been cut or removed and/or improperly packaged turbochargers resulting in shipping damage.

If a turbocharger is replaced, the following instructions must be followed when returning the old turbocharger to the warranty parts center:

- Do not disassemble the turbocharger for any reason.

- Do not remove any parts from the turbocharger.

- Do not cut or remove the vane position sensor (VPS) electrical wiring harness or connector,

- Properly and securely package the old turbocharger in the original shipping container from the replacement part with the upper and lower packaging locators installed correctly.
