Fixing faulty BMW electric park brake

This bulletin applies to 2017 BMW X1 xDrive28i vehicles. A message may be displayed on the central information display (CID) stating Electric Parking Brake Faulty.

This bulletin applies to 2017 BMW X1 xDrive28i vehicles. A message may be displayed on the central information display (CID) stating Electric Parking Brake Faulty.

The customer may not be able to operate the electric parking brake. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) fault memory may contain 480734 (EPBi left actuator faulty) and/or 480735 (EPBi right actuator faulty).

The cause may be the DSC software. Perform diagnosis with the latest version of ISTA4. Reprogram the DSC with ISTA 4.08.2x or higher.
