This bulletin applies to 2017 Jeep Compass vehicles built on or after March 20, 2017, and on or before June 14, 2017, and equipped with the Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, and/or Full Speed FWD Collision Warn Plus and/or Advanced Brake Assist and/or Adaptive Cruise Control.

Owners may report that the “Forward Collision Warning OFF” is illuminated and the system is disabled.

Using a scan tool, verify that all related systems are functioning as designed. Record and repair as needed before continuing.

Remove and replace the Adaptive Cruise Control Module (ACCM). It is not necessary to remove the entire front fascia. Remove the ACC fascia closeout bezel to expose the ACCM and mounting bracket bolts. The Proxi configuration data must be aligned in the new ACC module.

Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for Proxi Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu. It is necessary to perform the module programing when replacing the ACC module. It is recommended that a second person assist in the ACC Aim Alignment procedure.

The new ACC sensor is available as P/N 68248539AE.

Note: it is necessary to return the old ACC module to the Quality Engineering Center.
