Some 2017-2018 Toyota Tundra trucks may exhibit a “no click” or a “no spring return” condition from the fuel cap when fully seated and sealed.

In some vehicles, the fuel cap may be contacting the fuel filler neck, leading to this condition.

1. Remove and reinstall the fuel cap.

Does the fuel cap exhibit a “no click” or a “no spring return” condition? If yes, does the fuel cap exhibit contact with the fuel filler neck as shown in the accompanying photo?

2. If yes, remove the fuel filler neck and install the new fuel filler neck P/N 77201-0C121 and cap assembly 77300-07030. Note that the previous neck was P/N 77201-0C120. Confirm the fuel cap “click” or “spring return.”

3. Using the Techstream utility, perform an Evaporative System Check and verify that no EVAP codes are present.
