Quieting Jaguar noisy cooling fan

This bulletin applies to 2019 and later Jaguar E-Pace, F-Pace, F-Type, XE and XF vehicles equipped with a 2.0L engine.

Excessive cooling fan noise may be apparent. Technicians may find DTCs P2B61-73 and/or P26CB-72 stored. The cause may be that the coolant diversion shroud inside the variable coolant pump is not moving to the correct position when requested by the PCM.

If this is the case, the PCM then activates the engine cooling fan at high speed to avoid potential overheating. To address this issue, replace the cooling pump and update the ECU software.
