Fixing Ram Trailer Brake Condition

This bulletin applies to 2015-2016 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 and 4500 trucks, built on or before April 13, 2016, and equipped with Trailer Brake Control.

This bulletin applies to 2015-2016 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 and 4500 trucks, built on or before April 13, 2016, and equipped with Trailer Brake Control.

An intermittent condition may occur where the trailer brakes feel as if they are not working for the first few brake applications. This condition only happens if the trailer has been connected before the engine was started.

Reprogram the ITBM (integrated trailer brake module) with the latest software. Install a battery charger before programming. Battery voltage must not drop below 13.2 volts or above 13.5 volts. The flash download takes about two minutes.
